About Us: our elders

Patrick Yamashita

I graduated from Washington State University in 1987 with a degree in civil engineering after living several years of college fraternity life. In 1991, I made my faith commitment to the Lord while attending a church service in an old theater in Honolulu where God started a lifelong transformation of my life. He made himself real in the days that followed when he removed my uncontrollable desire to drink. I met my wife Laura a year later. We married after three years and now have two young boys, Ethan and Noah who can warm even the saddest heart with their laughter and smiles. Laura is my greatest supporter and the joy of my life.

I enjoy gardening, cooking, woodworking, and being a father. I also enjoy playing soccer but after two knee surgeries, I’ve traded in my cleats for a baby stroller and a children’s basketball hoop.
