About Us: our elders

Floyd Kahue

I was born and raised in Hawaii which explains my name, natural tan, and affinity to Spam.  Having been raised in a loving Christian home, I learned about Jesus at an early age and committed my life to Him at age eleven. In college I began to ponder life, my purpose and beliefs.  While I didn't completely abandon my faith, my spiritual walk was anemic for the better part of my adult life.  However, it was abruptly awakened when my dad contracted cancer and later succumbed to it.  During that time I wrestled with God, but through that He drew me closer to Himself where I was able to foster a deeper understanding and love for Him.

Today my wife Denise, daughter Michelle and I reside on the Eastside and are happy to call Washington home.  We love Cornerstone primarily because we're comfortable knowing that our imperfections are what pull us closer together in love with a perfect, gracious Lord.  The free espresso drinks help, too.
