About Us: our values

Our Values

(What's Important to Us)

Values shape our ministry environment, creating the atmosphere that promotes spiritual growth and vitality. They are not theological statements per se but flow out of our understanding of Scripture.

scripture

We want to be guided by the Word of God in our worldview, beliefs and all our actions. God's Word stands above our traditions, comforts, and human wisdom. We seek to discern and apply the timeless truths and principles in our lives but most of all to encounter the living Christ through the living Word. (Hebrews 4:12; John 5:39; Psalm 119:9-11; Isaiah 55:8-11)

prayer

We see prayer as the privilege of coming into the presence of God as we seek his face. Prayer also unleashes the power of God and is vital in accomplishing His purposes. We desire to cover all that we do in prayer understanding our absolute need for God and our dependence on Him for all good things. (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Colossians 4:2; Psalm 27:4,8; 2 Chronicles 7:14)

belonging

We want to embrace, include, and love people as much as possible believing that the journey toward faith is preceded by grace. This means we want people to feel like they belong even before they believe. This includes inviting people into our homes and opening doors for people to serve even before they fully embrace Christ. As we include people we want to continue to invite them into a saving relationship with Jesus. (Luke 19:1-9; 1 Peter 3:15; Romans 10:14-17; Matthew 9:10-13)

generosity

We want to foster a spirit of generosity believing that we are blessed to be a blessing to others. A spirit of generosity encompasses using our finances, time, experience, skills, and possessions for God's purposes. (2 Corinthians 9:6-15; 1 Timothy 6:17-19; Proverbs 22:9)

kingdom

We desire for our church to reach as many people as possible while also acknowledging that it will take many different kinds of churches to reach the vast number of people in our world. Therefore we want to partner with other churches and ministries and plant new churches so that God's Kingdom continues to extend throughout the world. This means we are willing to partner with others who share the same beliefs on major points of theology yet may hold different beliefs on minor points. (Mark 9:38-40; 1 Corinthians 3:5-9; Luke 12:31-32; Romans 15:5-7)

servanthood

In everything we do we want to have a willing spirit and cheerful heart understanding that it is the Lord Jesus Christ we are serving. This includes above all else having a humble spirit where our goal is that people will see and praise God for what He does in our lives and through our lives. (Ephesians 6:7-8; Colossians 3:23-24; 1 Peter 4:10-11; Philippians 2:5-7)
