Inner Healing

Coming to Christ starts us on a journey that has as its goal nothing less than humans becoming what we’ve been destined and designed for. Our spiritual re-birth reverberates and opens the door to the transformation of our physical bodies into glorious eternal ones. But God also offers us the possibility of experiencing transformation on the inside too. Now. Part of this transformation is found in His work of inner healing.

    The Truth Heals

    Pastor Joe
    March 4, 2007

Deep and abiding healing cannot happen apart from living in the truth. God's principles and perspectives are connected to the One who is the way, the Truth and the life.

    Message Notes

    CONCEPT OF SHAME
One must not bring dishonor or disgrace to one’s self or family.  Face and saving face are very important concepts.  Also, these concepts are used as controlling factors in the behavior of the children.

    PERSEVERANCE AND HARD WORK
Despite the odds or the difficulty, one should persevere and accept the challenge without complaint.  A strong work ethic is valued in which hard work and dedication to doing the best is synonymous with one’s identity.

    GROUP CONSENSUS
Group consensus is valued as the decision-making process.  Collective decision-making, collective responsibility and teamwork are stressed.  Rugged individualism is not esteemed.  However, within the group, there can exist great competition to do as well or better than others in terms of educational achievement an economic gain.

    INDIRECT COMMUNICATION
Very little is expressed directly.  Inferences are made based upon nonverbal expressions or statements made in reference to the behaviors of others.  If direct communication is initiated, it is usually one-way not two-way communication.

    FRUGALITY
The practice of making do with very little now, for a bigger gain in the future.  Taking great pains to get what you pay for and to not pay more than something is worth.
