The church at Corinth had been swayed by false teachers to discredit Paul and his ministry. The slanderous attackers claimed he was fickle, proud, unimpressive in appearance and speech, dishonest, and unqualified as an apostle of Christ. Throughout this letter the apostle is placed in the awkward position of defending himself against these accusations while also giving timeless instruction and encouragement to the faithful believers.
We will all stand before God's judgment seat and give an account of how we lived our lives. We are saved by faith but we are rewarded by our faithfulness.
