Jesus' Last Week

The last week that Jesus walked the earth before his crucifixion is referred to as Holy Week.  This week is the climax of his earthly ministry with its apex being the crucifixion and resurrection.  Jesus understood his purpose for coming to earth.  He came to offer himself to mankind and so at the right time he set his face toward Jerusalem knowing that his final week was upon him.  In this series we’ll look closely at what he said and what he did in this final week.  Fall in love with Jesus all over again as we pause to consider, think deeply upon, touch and behold our King!

    Empty Promise

    In cursing the fig tree Jesus provides an illustration that judgment will come to those who only appear fruitful but are not.  God knows those who are superficially connected to Him and those who actually bear the fruit of an authentic faith.

    1.    God will judge those with the empty trappings of religion but lack the fruit of an authentic faith.

    Matthew 3:7-10

    2.    One fruit of authentic faith is prayer.


    3.    Our faith is first and foremost in God, which strengthens our confidence in the outcome of our prayers.

    Mark 11:22-24

    Faith in God:

        Faith that He is good.

        Faith that He is almighty.
