The last week that Jesus walked the earth before his crucifixion is referred to as Holy Week. This week is the climax of his earthly ministry with its apex being the crucifixion and resurrection. Jesus understood his purpose for coming to earth. He came to offer himself to mankind and so at the right time he set his face toward Jerusalem knowing that his final week was upon him. In this series we’ll look closely at what he said and what he did in this final week. Fall in love with Jesus all over again as we pause to consider, think deeply upon, touch and behold our King!
Jesus goes off on the merchants and money changers who had turned the Temple courtyard into a big business money making enterprise and in the process had lost sight of it being the place where people get connected to God. Nothing incurs God’s ire more than when we substitute religion for the intimate relationship that God desires.
