When it comes to the Trinity, the least known member is the Holy Spirit. We have allowed his person to remain a mystery, we have sought to minister apart from his power, and we have a serious lack of joy in life because of this neglect. Passionate followers of Christ know it takes much more than trying harder, being more disciplined, or filling our lives with more activity. What we need is a fresh and consistent relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes we miss something not because what we know is untrue but it is incomplete. Like trying to cook while camping with a perfectly working stove except forgetting the propane fuel. The problem isn’t with the stove but a lack of fuel. So too, the cross of Christ speaks to us of the love of God but it’s also the present work of the Spirit in and through our lives that shows us in a personal way that God loves us. This is the fuel that ignites our passion for Him!
